Whichever route is chosen, the front and back panels have to be cut so that the shaping is balanced - taken in evenly on both sides and both legs - or the garment will twist. Pressing and packing close the process. A trouser that is pressed on the leg line, folded correctly and packed flat will reach the customer looking as intended; one that is bundled loosely will arrive creased in exactly the places that are hardest to press out.
